Joseph is also the co-founder of Crucial Learning (formally Vital Smarts), a leading communication and leadership training firm. Beyond his professional achievements, he has made significant contributions through Unitus Labs, a nonprofit that has empowered over 50 million people and facilitated over $2 billion in impact investments.

In 2015, Joseph founded The Other Side Academy (TOSA), leveraging the behavioral change tactics used at Crucial Learning. TOSA is a residential program for individuals overcoming crime, addiction, and homelessness. TOSA initiative has expanded to include The Other Side Village, a pioneering community for the chronically homeless.
